Leonela Alejandro is from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and began her musical education when she was seven years old. She was accepted into the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico at 16. After just two years in the conservatory, she transferred to the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and completed her undergraduate degree in 2020 and her graduate degree at Columbus State University in 2023.
Leonela has also placed in over a dozen competitions in the United States, with more than ten first-prize placements including the Guitar Foundation of America International Artist Competition, the most prestigious classical guitar competition in the world.
The Treasure Coast Classical Guitar Society, a community for classical guitar enthusiasts, was formed in 2010 to promote the appreciation of classical guitar, provide opportunities for guitarists of all levels to meet and play together, and to sponsor professional concerts.
