Kemal Gekic, a performer and teacher of international stature, is Artist in Residence and Professor of Piano Performance at Florida International University. He performs, conducts master classes, and serves as a juror on numerous piano competitions throughout the world. His highly acclaimed performances have included appearances with Warsaw Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic of London, Japan Philharmonic Symphony, Leipzig Gewandhaus Symphony, Czech National Symphony Orchestra, and others. As a recording artist, Gekic has won accolades in Europe, America, and Japan for insightful, original views of the music. He is now one of the most sought-after keyboard performers.
The 1pm master class and 3:30pm concert are free of charge and open to the public. These events are made possible by a generous grant from Women Supporting the Arts, a program of the Arts Foundation of Martin County, and the Jureit Musicales.
