How did your ancestors die—infectious disease, chronic disease, injury? Our ancestors’ causes of death can tell us about their lives, lead us to new sources of information for our genealogical investigations—and even alert us to our own risk of developing heart disease, diabetes or cancer. Janet Mar and Janene Zaccone will explain how.
Janet is a retired nurse practitioner and university professor. Much of her nursing career centered on medical research, specifically in the study of investigational drugs for FDA approval. She has applied her research skills to her family genealogy. Janet became interested in medical genetics after a relative’s sudden death.
Janene has a BS in journalism, an MA in history and has been conducting genealogical research for most of her life.
Pre-registration required to watch via Zoom if you do not attend at the Blake Library. Registration details at mcgsfl.org/events.
